Or, “Ode To Some Beautiful Leaves I Infused On My Balcony One Midsummer Morning”

These leaves landed on my tea table as so many others have done in the form of a free 3 gram sample that was kindly included in an order I placed over at House of Tea.

I bought this tuo in mid-April as part of my efforts to shore up the pu side of my stash.

Recently I was moving my teaware cupboard to make better use of our kitchen countertop real estate, and in doing so rediscovered an old pot that I’d kind of half forgotten.

This is the other half of a pair of black teas from Georgia that I recently purchased from House of Tea.

This was one of those impulse buys, tossed into my shopping cart during a “want!” moment of weakness when I was putting together my recent order with House of Tea that saw me also get my thirsty mitts on a pair of teas from Georgia, as well as a beeng of shou pu-erh.

My previous experiences with Georgian tea left me wanting more, so when I was putting together an order with perennial favourites House of Tea recently I took the opportunity to throw a couple of new-to-me teas from that country into my virtual shopping cart.

Another month, another order placed at House of Tea, another free sample to play with.
This time they’ve opted to tempt me with another tasty Oolong.

A short while ago I celebrated my birthday, and my womenfolk only went and spoiled me rotten with three wonderful pressies that, somewhat unsurprisingly, were tea themed.

It’s now a little over five years to the day since the first beeng I ever owned came my way, when I received a 357 gram cake of 2010 Qian Ye Hao as a birthday present.
