We’re coming up to the long Midsummer weekend here in Sweden, and like many other families we’ll be de-camping to the countryside for some fun and games with the extended clan.

I’ve spent the morning getting my kit together.

On the teaware side, I’m taking a medium sized gaiwan, a matching tea pitcher, a tea scoop, a tea strainer, and 4 small teacups, in case anyone wants to join me in sampling some of the teas I’m taking along. This tea making equipment should nicely complement the Ikea Riklig teapot I have permanently stationed there, that I use for brewing up my breakfast tea.

As well as some green gunpowder for breakfast, and an equally run-of-the-millish loose leaf shou Pu-erh, I’m taking along a couple of teas I normally pull out of the cupboard when I want to treat myself – the 2012 Bu Lang Sheng Pu-erh, and a little Wu Yi Shan Qi Lan Oolong.

Fine teas, good company, and endless evenings.

To sip the very essence of honey-roast mountainside when immersed in the perfume of pine forest, as the half-night slips away, shamed by the dawn.
